Elephant Parade - Mama Elephants

Last night, I finally got to work on my elephants for the Elephant Parade QAL.  I adore this little quilt and am ever so grateful that Lorna is sharing her design.  Here is mama elephant posing for her closeup...

And here are all the mama elephants.  I just adore these little guys!  My daughter wants to be a large animal vet and her goal is to work with elephants, giraffes, etc., at a zoo after college.  She has claimed this quilt for her future kids?!?

This is the first week in the quilt along and these sew up really fast so there is still plenty of time to join the fun.

Sew Fresh Quilts

And speaking of quilt alongs, there is also still time to link up your Christmas Tree blocks in our Not So Last Minute Christmas QAL.  The drawing for the batik fat quarters will be on Saturday!!

  1. Adorable! I bookmarked the quilt along yesterday but haven't made any elephants yet. I need more days in the week ( and more grey fabric, lol!)

  2. Your elephant is adorable! My daughter loves elephants and would enjoy maybe a pillow from this cute pattern. How cool that your daughter wants to be a big-animal vet! My daughter was a vet technician for about 7 years before she had children and loved it. Her daughter now wants to be a marine biologist. I'm making Sara a whale quilt :*)

  8. Oh, how cute! Love their ears and their scrolly skin makes them all the more like a lumpy bumpy elephant. Great fabric choices.

  11. I'll be starting this soon, too. My daughter was in Tanzania last semester studying wildlife management. Your daughter might want to take a look at the School for Field Studies. My husband and I met her there for a safari at the end of her term. It was amazing to see so many animals up close and personal in their natural habitat!
