My husband and I took a road trip from Wisconsin to Las Vegas at the end of May. You can read the first travel post of our adventure HERE if you missed it. We arrived on a Monday night and walked the strip enjoying the lights. Although I enjoyed the pretty lights, I was overwhelmed by the crowds and the general riff-raff that goes on at night. I really wanted to get up early the next day and hit the strip before anyone else was up so I could enjoy it better.
It was a beautiful morning, the sun was shining as always and the temperatures for the day were only in the mid eighties. We started our walk in the Flamingo gardens behind our hotel.
I wore my Stitch Fix tropical print skirt that I received in my last Fix HERE. In my Stitch Fix post, I styled the skirt with a tank top, but I decided to go with a loose, cotton peasant blouse on this day instead. It is just cooler, and more comfortable than the polyester Express tank top. Plus, I felt since the skirt was short and form fitting, a looser item on top would balance it out better than the tank top.
How fun is this picture? A fashion blogger posing in front of what else...a Prada store! Love it! Of course, I can't afford to buy anything in this store, but a girl can dream, right?
I wore a hat to try and protect my face from the sun but the wind was so fierce it kept wanting to blow my hat right off my head! If I ever go back to Vegas, I will have to bring a hat with some form of strap...or a tighter fitting hat.
My hat is one of the 97cent clearance hats I picked up at J.C. Penney at the end of last year. I only took one hat with me on this trip to keep my luggage down. I picked the plain straw hat because it goes with everything. I did however end up buying a Vegas baseball cap while in Vegas. I had too...it was only $2.99 plus it was pink! I ended up wearing it while hiking at the Grand Canyon and Arches National Park.
This bright pink cross body bag that my daughter gave me for Mother's Day came in real handy for this trip. It not only went with just about everything (who knew hot pink goes with so many things?), but it was perfect for security reasons. Just about all the women carried cross body bags in Vegas. They are an absolute necessary item to protect you from purse snatchers and pick-pockets.
I wore multi-strand coral jewelry as my accent color.

Perfect outfit to enjoy a nice and sunny city walk. I can totally understand that you wanted to enjoy it without the crowds, I have never been to Vegas but I can imagine how busy the nightlife must be!
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting about Hanging Lake, I read that it is very busy but didn't realize they actually would put signs up that it's closed for more people. Definitely will have to get up very early if I ever want to see it.

Looks like a fun walk and your look is perfect for it! Your skirt reminds me of one I just purchased from Loft over Memorial Day. I hadn't considered pairing it with a peasant blouse, but believe I may now because you look so cute in this. :) Thanks for linking up with The Ageless Style link-up!
