One Direction Dismiss Hiatus Rumors

Despite a recent report in The Sun claiming that One Direction will go on a year-long break next year after they finish promoting their fifth album, due out at the end of 2015, the group have confirmed there is truth to that.

"All pure speculation and not based on any facts," a rep for 1D said when speaking to Billboard. "The band are excited about their brand new fifth album and their upcoming tour."

Speaking exclusively to British newspaper The Sun, the 22-year-old said that his decision to quit the group was "crazy and wild and a bit mad. But at the same time I've never felt more in control in my life. I feel like I'm doing what's right -- right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good."

The band made the announcement on their Facebook account on March 25, one week after he made headlines for leaving their current tour due to "stress."

The band notes they will continue on as a "four-piece."
