Hi All!
I'm sorry I've a lurker lately!
I have had a bunch of projects to wrap up, and school staritng
and family visiting, BASICS quilt drive stuff etc. blah blah blah...
But I am back, and settled...
I thought about starting another sew along... But thought I'd leave it up to you.
I wanted to share my latest 15 minute inspiration...while SHOPPING!
I found this shirt at TARGET. I walked by it twice, and thought..Hmmm,
I like the weird color combo!
Warms and cools, it felt very much like the weather lately...
summer turning to fall! So,
just like that, TWO XXL shirts jumped into my cart...
Of course I came home and took 15miutes to pull fabrics,
and another 15 minutes to sort through my 7 scrap bins to pull pieces
I thought would be fun to use for a FALL quilt.
I want a big ol' scrappy 15 minute block quilt.
After seeing the ones that we all made when I started this site, I decided,
it's time to make another!
If you want to sew along, comment here, and
go find a piece of CLOTHING, hopefully something you already own and
that you can part with...
Or hit the GOODWILL and find something that has a color combo you
Don't usually work with.
I'm planning on making 10-15 blocks a week.
This will be my 15 MINUTES of PLAY TIME while I am
finishing up some other BIG quilts.
I just made 5 blocks
using my 5 sided technique, and it didn't take me 30 minutes...
If you go round your shape once with some biggish pieces,
you can get a 6.5'' block pretty fast.
Then I use my 6.5" ruler, lay it on, and cut it out... Likety split...
I'm trying to use a piece of the shirt in each block....
we'll see how far I get with two XXL shirts!
I'd love to have a few people playing along...
Seeing what you all are doing for 15 minutes keeps me inspired!
I'm ALSO goign to start playing with setting ideas for our BOM blocks.
I'm a few behind on that,But I will get there...
So go find some INSPIRATION!
Then come back
and show us so we all can be inspired!!!
What's Inspiring you today?

I would like to play along on this one. I will show the inspiration a little later. It is a shirt I have already cut up, and colors I don't usually use. I have been lurking here for a while as well, working on other projects. It will be good to get back to 15 minutes play to start my day.
I just finished a BOM block for Basics. Now to mail it and the quilt off.
What else do I need? My head!

Hi Victoria, love the shirt fabric. You have just reminded me how much fun it is to get the 15 minutes play on track and share with others !I'm due this afternoon to tidy up my studio, so I'll sure I'll come up with something..Have a good weekend and I'm thinking of you and all the New Yorkers on this day...
I'm raising my hand yet again, ;)) I have a Hawaiian shirt that belonged to my stepdad. It will be a great start for a Basics quilt, as he was a most cheerful and generous guy!
I'm being inspired by the fact that autumn is coming along fairly fast, and the fruit and vegetable gardens are quietening down, so I can start sewing again. This sounds like fun and I will hit the charity shops (or maybe the trunk in the attic?) tomorrow. It will be good to start 15-minuting again.
