.dear, jack.

hey, bugg. it's momma.

just checking in to let you know that man - i love you. i know the twins are coming soon and your little world is about to change, but this insane amount of love dada and i have for you isn't going anywhere. that will never change. never ever. in fact, it seems to grow more and more with each passing day. i can't even explain it. you are just so darn awesome.

even with all those lovely toddler-two tantrums you've been showing us. we still love you.
even with all those insanely stinky diapers you love to save for momma. we still love you.
even with the refusal to eat anything healthy lately. we still love you.
even with the nightly 2:30 am wakings where you won't go back to sleep unless it's in our bed. we still love you.
even with the mess you make right after momma has tidied up. we still love you.
even if you refuse to enjoy a bath alone and one of us has to crawl in with you. we still love you.

see, jack. we still love you no matter what you throw at us and these little siblings of yours, coming so so soon, are only going to make our family even better. i hope you know that.

i also hope you know that if you ever just need a little alone time with momma or dada, we're here. anytime. we will still have our special moments like we do now, just the two of us [or three of us] if you need. anytime. you are our little bugg man and that will never change.

so remember that we love you, no matter what. forever and always.

[and i am so incredibly lucky to have meg henderson [els photography] in my life to capture these amazing pictures of me and my boy. these mean the absolute world to me, hormonal or not, and i cannot thank her enough. and her talent....i mean, it's pretty incredible right?!]

.family photos - jessica leigh photography.

a while back my mother mentioned that she would very much like to get some recent family photo's done. i think the last set we took was from a sears portrait studio, a gift from my 11 year-old sister and my 13 year-old self to our mother for mother's day [oh, and they were un-real!], so needless to say i was totally on board with the idea! i was also 5 months pregnant at the time, so we waited till the little man was born before scheduling in a session. my mother found a great deal online and booked a fairly new photographer, named jessica from jessica leigh photography, and i have to admit at first i was a little skeptical. being the photographer lover that i am, i pride myself on knowing not only good, but great photographers in the edmonton area. i have given out countless recommendations to friends, have annoyed the crap out of my husband with our own bookings, and have gotten to know a handful of amazing photographers [and dare i call them now friends?!].
i have booked with arguably the best in the city for our wedding and engagement pictures [andrea from pink sugar photography]. i have tried out a few up and coming new photographers [erin from project life photography & paula from paula scherr photography] and adored both our sessions. i've done the labor session with arisa from mad bee photography that i will undoubtably cherish for the rest of my life. and i have been left speechless at the amazing eye, quality and creativity from a photographer who just has 'it' in every way [meg from els photography].
my point being - i wondered if we were we wasting our time with this newbie?

well friends i have to admit, we were left with some pretty damn good shots! yay! and i was so happy with the results, we booked my dad in on the action too with a session just for him! jessica was a pleasure to work with [such a sweetie!] and i say if you're in the market for some family photo's at a pretty decent price point [only because she's relatively new! so hurry!], i would def look into booking! thanks again jessica! the people over at fancy napkin wish you all the best in your new business adventure and can't wait for our next session!

here's just a little sampling of a few fav's from both sessions...

on another photography note [well, sort of!] have you voted for my little family for the h&m fashion family contest? it's still running till the 10th and you can vote daily! we're currently floating between 2nd & 3rd and could use all the help we can muster! we would totally appreciate the support and thank you x a million in advance [for you american friends, you need to use a canadian postal code to enter - t5t 1n2 - works just fine:)]

.paula scherr photography.

at the beginning of may, we had the absolute pleasure of spending one warm evening with the fabulous paula, from paula scherr photography. she is the talent behind all these photo's and i am just pleased as can be about them. not to share too many fuzzy feelings on here, but i couldn't shout loud enough of my love for this gal. she definitely knows a thing or two behind the camera and is just such a sweetheart too! i highly recommend, obviously.

these also happen to be our first professional session as a family of three and little jack bugg was all smiles for paula [well, until 7 pm hit ;)]. as an early mother's day gift to my mother-in-law we also booked a session for the grandparents and i am so happy that we did. such a great idea, if i don't say so myself! we now have about 20 photo's hanging in jack's nursery [practically the entire 2 sessions!] and it brings a smile to my face every time i walk in there [nursery photo's coming soon!].

so thank you sweet paula, i know we will cherish these pictures for a lifetime. xo.

a few pics from our family of three session.....

and a few from our grandparents session.....
*to see some more pictures from this session [yes, there's more! ha!], check out paula's blog [here] and make sure to 'like' her facebook page too! as always, thanks for supporting those companies that support our family too!

.professional photography.

see, that picture right there. that's why i pay good money for professional photos.
not only is it one of me and my boy, but it captures a moment that i can now cherish forever. a picture that fills my heart with happiness. a picture of kisses and snuggles and love.

and their are so many more coming soon. like, next week soon.
*special thanks to paula scherr photography for these wonderful memories and photos.

.visiting the art gallery, mainly to take some family pictures.

before papa left for work [he gets back tomorrow! whoo hoo!!], we took a little trip to the art gallery to take some family pictures. while they aren't professional quality by any means, i've been looking at them non-stop and love each and every one of them. i mean, this is my little family!
being without my second half has been pretty hard and we miss him quite a bit around these parts.
^ makes me laugh every time!
^  funny little ham ball.
^ apparently not everyone loves a million pictures being taken of them. ha!
