Nailvengers assemble: New Years nail art for Tesco

Hey everyone! Two posts in one day, but I must admit these are probably my favourite nails of the two. New years eve is all about the sparkle and I love the glitter on these nails combined with the black and white of the clock. When the clock strikes midnight tonight I hope to be having the time of my life, and I honestly can't wait to see what 2015 will bring me. I'll be graduating from university, and stepping out into the big scary world of work, so a lot will change!  Don't forget to check out what Sammy, Allie, and Lucie created for this month's Nailvengers Assemble.

Step 1: Paint your nails with glitter
Step 2: Using white nail polish and a nail art brush (or nail art pen) draw a white circle on your nail
Step 3: Using a black nail art pen or black nail polish and a nail art brush draw a black outline around your circle
Step 4: Using black and a tiny nail art brush add the numbers to your clock. this is quite fiddly so if you prefer you could just add 12, 3, 6 and 9
Step 5: Add the clock hands (both of 12 of course!)

Step 6: Add a topcoat to seal in your design

Nailvengers Assemble: Halloween Nail Art for Avon

Hey everyone! It's the end of the month which means another Nailvengers Assemble post, if you don't know what I mean by that, read this post. I'm teaming up with Sammy of The Nailasaurus, Lucie of Lucy's Stash, Allie of Brit Nails and Amelia of xameliax once again to bring you Halloween nails, with this spooky combination look I created for Avon. I'm heading out the door in 5 minutes so this post is very rushed I'm afraid, but I'm super excited for tonight, halloween is one of my favourite days of the whole year and I've been looking forward to it for months!

Nailvengers Assemble! Gradients - Night Time Sky for Avon

Hey everyone! I know I've done two posts in one evening, but both of these fall on the same day, as it's Nailvengers Assemble time once again! If you don't know what I'm talking about, me, Allie from Brit Nails, Sammy from The Nailasaurus, Lucy from Lucy's Stash and Amelia from xameliax all post one themed nail design at the end of every month. I took a break from doing it last month as I had too much on, but now I'm back, and I'm combining this months prompt of 'Gradients' with some nails I created for Avon this weekend: night time sky nail art! I must admit, these did look a lot better in person, especially from further away. Macro has ruined the effect a bit I think, but nevertheless I do still quite like them, and it's something I've not done before which is always a bonus.

Nailvengers Assemble: Summer Treats, with Yoo Moo + GIVEAWAY

Hey everyone! It's Nailvengers Assemble time once again! If you don't know what I'm talking about, me, Allie from Brit Nails, Sammy from The Nailasaurus, Lucy from Lucy's Stash and Amelia from xameliax all post one themed nail design at the end of every month. I'm a bit late on my upload of these unfortunately, I didn't have time at all to post them last night. I expected that once I finished uni for summer I'd have so much time for blogging, but I've had even less time than usual due to working, moving house, seeing friends, and joining the gym. I really wish I had unlimited time because it's beginning to stress me out that things aren't getting done which I need to be done, like this post. I barely even had time to do the nails, which is why they're very simplistic. I saw Lucy's design here and decided that they'd be great, and easy, to recreate.

A couple of weeks ago Yoo Moo got in contact with me and asked me to create some nail art for their current #GuiltFreeze competition. They've teamed up with Nails Inc. and The Nailasaurus to create a great new nail art contest. They've also brought out a brand new limited edition Nails Inc polish called 'Udderly Shocking Pink' and they'd kindly offered to give me 3 bottles to give away to my readers (enter using the Rafflecopter widget below after the jump). They are also hosting the #GuiltFreeze competition on their Instagram and Facebook until the 13th July, which you can read all about it here (you can be in with a chance of a trip to Ibiza, or winning loads of Yoo Moo/Nails Inc related prizes).

I decided that it would be great to mix both Nailvengers and the Yoo Moo competition together, because I absolutely love Frozen Yogurt, and it's definitely the perfect 'Summer Treat'

Nailvengers Assemble: Floral Nail Art

Hey everyone! Today is the last day of the month so that means a brand new Nailvengers Assemble post. This month's them is florals, and we all know my love of floral nail art, so I was excited to do these nails. Be sure to check out Lucy, Sammy, Amelia and Allie to see what they did for the theme too! Also, don't forget to like our Facebook page. My design isn't particularly unique or impressive, but I think it's subtlety is why I like it so much. I wore these for a good few days which is unlike me and I was sad to take them off!

Nailvengers Assemble: Untried Polishes - Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens Review

Hey everyone! It's the end of the month so that means a brand new Nailvengers Assemble post. Dont forget to check out Allie over at Brit Nails, Sammy at The Nailasaurus, Lucie at Lucy's Stash and Amelia at xameliax to see what designs they came up with! You can also like our Facebook page for updates. This month's theme is 'Untrieds' and as I have quite a stash of polishes to review building up I decided to use some of them. I've been wanting to use the Sally Hansen nail art pens ever since I received them, and the Rita Ora Rimmel London polishes have been catching my eye too so I combined the two for a simple floral design.

Nailvengers Assemble: Easter

Hey everyone! Today is the last day of the month, and that of course means a new Nailvengers Assemble post. If you're not sure what I'm talking about, you can see my original post here. Don't forget to keep up to date with what we're doing on our Facebook page. This month's theme is Easter, and whilst it's quite early, by the last day of April it will be too late so we decided it was better to do it now instead. Easter for me is all about cute little chicks and decorated easter eggs, so I decided to combine the two!

I used a base of Graffiti Nails - Ice White, with a coat of Graffiti Nails - Fairy Wing. Once that was dry I used a striping brush with W7 - Sheer Blue and Deborah Lippmann - Spring Buds on my ring and index finger. Then I used a nail art brush to draw a yellow circle using Graffiti Nails - Mellow, and to draw on the beak using Rimmel London - Oragasm, from the Rita Ora collection. Then I used a thinner brush to outline the bird using black acrylic paint, and to do the eye with white and black acrylic paint. Then I topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite to seal everything in.

Nailvengers Assemble: Mardi Gras Madness

Hey everyone! It's the last day of the month and that means a new Nailvengers theme! If you're not sure about what Nailvengers is, read last month's post here. I was so happy to see some of you participating in last month's theme, and I hope to see you all doing the same this month. Don't forget you can like our Facebook page for updates, and to see all our designs, and you can post your Nailvengers there too. This month's theme is Mardi Gras, and I struggles to come up with an idea until the other day when I stumbled across this design and decided to recreate it. This is the first time I've painted a face on my nails, and I was quite unsure about how it would turn out. It doesn't look brilliant, and it looks more like a member of Kiss than a Mardi Gras face, but for a first attempt I don't think it's too bad.

For the base I used China Glaze - All Wrapped Up, from the Holiglaze collection, then I used Deborah Lippmann - Walking on Sunshine, Barry M - Gold Foil and an unnamed green, the details on the face are all using acrylic paint and I topped it all off with a coat of Seche Vite

Nailvengers Assemble: New Year, New Technique

Hey everyone! Before I start off I just want to say a massive thankyou to you all for voting for me in the China Glaze holiday competition, because I won!! I'm so unbelievably happy and it's all down to you, so thankyou. Anyway, today I'm super excited to share a new project with you. Me, Sammy of The Nailasaurus, Lucie of Lucy's Stash, Allie of Brit Nails and Amelia of xameliax have started a new monthly challenge group called Nailvengers Assemble. After all meeting at the Cosmo Blog Awards, we've been in constant contact, and we decided that it would be a great idea to create something like this. I'm so excited to be part of this with such an amazing group of people, and I hope you will all get involved too! We will be posting on the last day of every month with a new challenge, and you will have the whole of the next month to post your versions of the prompt. This month's challenge is 'New Year, New Technique'. If you want to get involved you can use the hashtag #nailvengers and you can like our facebook page to keep up to date with what we're doing:

So for this month's new technique I chose to do negative space nails. I've been seeing them around for a while and I've always wanted to give it a go, and I'm so glad I did. These took a bit longer than expected but I'm really happy with how they came out.  I had to take these pictures on a different camera to usual so the lighting looks a bit different, but I'll be back to my usual camera for the next post!

The base for these nails was OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls, then I used Barry M - Gold Foil to draw the shapes using a brush, and acetone and a wide brush to clean up the space. Then I used Seche Vite to top it off
