Oakamoor village sits in a long valley with the river Churnet running through the bottom with large forests rising up the sides - a beautiful location. You are just 1 mile away from Alton Towers and the Cheadle tv transmitter site. Occasionally you can hear the screams and the noise of the rides from Alton Towers if the wind is in the right direction.

Originally a BBC landlord site, Oakamoor entered service in November 1979 to serve about 650 people. Channel 4 was added on 2-Oct-1987.
