Challenge # 19 2013 “It´s a Quirky Small World”

Who hasn't heard the Disney´s song “It´s a small, small World”??

“It's a world of laughter, a world or tears
it’s a world of hopes, it’s a world of fears
there’s so much that we share
that its time we're aware
it’s a small world after all…”

Well this new challenge is all about this Quirky Small World.

We want to see different places of the World represented in your projects.
It could be the place you live, the place you had born,  the place you will like to live, the place you will like to visit, even the place you need to see before you die.

Feel free and let your creativity fly and show us “it´s a small World after all”

Come and see some great and inspiring projects from our Design Team:

GUEST DESIGNER Vicky

Vicky used Washington, Merci Beaucoup, Fantastic Sophie and Thanksgiving from Paper Pretties, and she said "I think this is the card that took the longest to make lol and that’s not including the thinking about how this would come together!!!"
We can see why, this is amazing Vicky, and we love that you included greetings in the appropriate languages! There are 4 more photos of Vicky's project on her blog so hop on over and see more and don't forget to leave a comment.

Guest Designer Leeann

Leeann used Merci Beaucoup from Paper Pretties to make this darling card, she has even found some pink poodle papers to go with the French Poodle!

Gemma

Hello Quirky Crafters, I am so excited to be a Guest Designer for Quirky Crafts Challenge Blog. I have to admit I was a bit stumped by the theme at first and what to make, but I decided on a journal page in an old ledger.
I made the background using Dylusions ink sprays. I used a stencil to add the vine leaves around the page and applied gesso through a stencil to give the page added texture and depth.

The fabulous digi stamps were provided by Paper Pretties' for this challenge. I coloured the images in using Copic markers and drew the hot air balloon. The digi stamps were so lovely to use.
I really enjoyed creating this page, and am already looking forward to future challenges. I hope you like it.

CAZZY
(sorry I'm late, here at last)
I made this 8"x8" card using some of the Paper Pretties images, Fantastic Sophie, Thanksgiving, Well Wishers, and Oh So Tropical, and decided to make it into a bon voyage card. I created the sentiment with PagePlus, it is supposed to be red with a shadow. The round the world stickers are from a set I received as a gift.

For this new Quirky Challenge, I made a small souvenir box . I used to make it, in addition to the box file, two beautiful images, travelers from two different continents, courtesy of our sponsor Paper Pretties.  Both are painted with watercolor crayon.

I've done something different (for me) I've made a digital scrapbook page using  my own pictures from a weekend away in Paris, to see the Monet Gardens and of course the Eiffle Tower with hubby and my mum and dad. It turned out to be our very last trip away together. I've added the little Merci Beaucoup French Poodle from our sponsors, as it was a last minute decision to go with them so I'll always be thankful we did!

...and, of course, I've also made a quick 'Thank You' card with the same French poodle. She's been 3D-ed and coloured with Promarkers.

MONICA

From this small Quirky World, I want to represent France, mainly Paris.
A place I will love to visit and take some pictures at the Eiffel Tower.
I used this lovely "Mercy Beaucoup" digi from Paper Pretties, working it with heat transfer vinyl to add it to this simple fabric bag.
To add some color, I used some ribbon in France`s flag colors.
The final touch is a beautifull charm my friend Mariela Cardozo sent from France -she lives there-. As you can see it has a tiny Eiffel Tower and my name next to it, maybe is a good sign and some day I will be able to be there and take that dream picture.

Daire

For this challenge I made a quirky bookmark for my cousin, who went off to University today, using the 'Thanksgiving' stamp from Paper Pretties. The background paper was hand doodled using a black pen over spray ink. The colour and sparkles were added with coloured pencils and my lovely new Sakura Stardust gel pens, and the tassel was macramed with embroidery thread and a selection of plastic beads

VALOU - will make something for the reminder post next week.
