Something new on 27 May

Hello everyone

I can't believe how fast the weeks since our last craft market have passed - our next one is on Sunday 27 May - only 6 days away now! Thank you to everyone who came to see us in April - it was lovely to see so many of you there.  I'll put some photographs from our last market day at the end of this post.

First of all I want to share our latest venture with you.  As many of you will already know we have supported Guide Dogs for some time now, and all the proceeds from our Kids' Crafting table go to them.  On Sunday we will be introducing "Cuppa and Cake" in aid of Guide Dogs.  A corner of the hall will be set aside so that our visitors can sit and have a cuppa in comfort.  All cakes will be home baked by Sue of Rainbow Cakes and Bakes so those of you who are gluten free will be catered for too.  Here is the "menu" for Sunday, with suggested minimum donations.

We will still be having our kids' crafting table too so hopefully we will be able to raise plenty of funds for Guide Dogs on Sunday.

So, who else will be joining us this time?

Mr Tom from TC Crafts will be there again.

Pauline and Pat from Hearts'n'Horsehoes will also be with us again

We also have Angela from AyVee Jewellery Design

And of course Sue and Lucy from Rainbow Cakes and Bakes

Greylord, aka Stephen, of Greylord's Bookbinding Services will be back with us this month.

Elizabeth of Craftee Thoughts will also be there.

Back again is Kim of KSY Crafts (she also supervises the Kids' Crafting)

And last, but very definitely not least, we have Margaret of Jewellery by Marge.  Margaret was our guest crafter last month and decided she likes us so is now a permanent member of our group.

Sunday 8 April 2018

Hello everyone and welcome to our first blog post of 2018.

Our crafters have had a bit of a break since our last market day in December so now that their batteries are fully recharged we are pleased to announce that our first craft market of 2018 will be on Sunday 8 April in Cramlington Masonic Hall.

It seems that some of you have had difficulty in finding us in the Masonic Hall so I will give you directions at the end of this post.  For some reason a google search brings up the Masonic Hall in Shiremoor - not very good - and I have had to remove the map from our Facebook page for that reason.

So, what can you expect on 8 April?

Well our first news is that Sue from Rainbow Cakes and Bakes has put on her pinny is pre-heating the oven so she can be back with us after a well earned sabbatical.  Sue makes delicious cakes, scones and pies which are all gluten free.  So if you, or anyone you know, is gluten free then do come along and see what she has on offer.  They are all handmade and reasonably priced.  Her philosophy is that just because they are gluten free then they shouldn't be any more expensive than non-gluten free food.

Guest Crafters

We also have four "guest" crafters joining us for the first time - if they like us they have the option to join our group and do regular market days with us - so do come along and give them a warm welcome.

Carol of  Collingwood Glass Art will be doing her very first craft market ever on 8 April.

Margaret of  Jewellery by Marge will also be with us to do her first craft market.

We also have Adele of  Stitch 2 Craft joining us for the first time.

And last but not least we have Nicola of  Fuzz Bombs doing her first market day with us.

Other Crafters

Mr Tom of TC Crafts will be there with a selection of tote bags, lavender bags and hand decorated boxes.

Elizabeth of Craftee Thoughts.  Elizabeth crochets baby clothes, hats, jumpers and cardigans for older children and a variety of other items too.

Kim from KSY Crafts .  Kim is well known for her sea glass products, as well as wooden items, and hand painted or decopatched ceramics and glass.

Angela from AyVee Jewellery Design .  Angela handmakes all her own jewellery, including crystal healing jewellery.  She also has a selection of crystals and is a qualified Reiki practitioner.

Pauline and Pat are team Hearts'n'Horseshoes.  Sentimental hearts and plaques for all occasions, all hand decorated by them.

Judith of Handmade Miniature Doors .  Miniature doors  all handmade  from recycled wood in a variety of styles and sizes.

Stephen from Greylord's Bookbinding Services .  Stephen makes notebooks in a variety of different sizes and finishes and also offers a repair service for old books.

Kids' Crafting

As always we will have a table dedicated to kids' crafting.  We charge £1 per item per child for this and the proceeds go to Guide Dogs.  So the kids have fun whilst fundraising for a very worthwhile cause.

Guide Dogs

Mike and Sheryl will be back with us again with a range of Guide Dogs merchandise - and of course the ever popular Guide Dog tombola.  Do come along and show them your support.

The early bird .....

I really don't know where this year has gone - think I need more hours in the day and more days in the week to keep up.  I ran out of time to do a blog post in October so thought I would get November's post done early just to make sure!

Our next market day in Cramlington Masonic Hall in on Sunday 26 November between 10am and 4pm.  This is something new for us - we have never held a market day on a  Sunday before - so we hope that you will all be able to come along and support us, and that perhaps people who can't come along on a Saturday will take this opportunity to come along and see what we are all about.

Our December market is on Saturday 02 December so only six days between the two - and I am unlikely to have time to do a separate blog post so will cover both markets together here.

So what can you expect to find on 26 November?

Pauline and Pat from Hearts'n'Horseshoes will be back with a selection of their beautiful hand decorated sentimental hearts, plaques and hanging Christmas mdf ornaments.

Angela from AyVee Jewellery Design will be there with a selection of her handmade jewellery and also her crystals.  As well as being a qualified Reiki practitioner, Angela also makes a selection of crystal healing jewellery.

Judith from Handmade Miniature Doors came along as a guest crafter in September and became a full member of the group afterwards.  The gorgeous miniature doors are all made from recylced wood and can either be bought from stock on the day or you can request one to your own specifications.

As well as being in charge of our Kids' Crafting table, Kim from KSY Crafts will also have a table full of her own handcrafted and hand decorated goodies, including the most fantastic wooden advent calenders and her always popular handmade Christmas tree ornaments.

Wendy from Powertex Northumberland and Newcastle joined our group in September selling items she has made using this medium.   Wendy is a qualified Powetex tutor and will be demonstrating the use of this wonderful liquid at both our November and December market days. This is what she made in October.

In addition Wendy will also have her own table selling items made from or decorated using Powertex.

Ann from Hadrian Gems will be back with us after a short break.  As well as necklaces, bracelets and earrings Ann makes the ever popular Guardian Angel keyrings and lovely scarf rings.

Mr and Mrs Charlie  from Charlie Cards will both be in attendance too.  All cards are handmade, including the always popular pop up box cards.  Unlike most card shops at this time of the year, Charlie Cards provide a range of ordinary birthday cards as well as Christmas cards.  Cards can also be personalised to your own requirements by prior arrangement.

Mr Charlie is also Mr Tom of TC Crafts who will also be at both the November and December markets.  Mr Tom does all the sewing and Mrs Charlie makes all the co-ordinating cards for him (as well as the hand decorated boxes).

Stephen of Greylord's Bookbinding Services will be with us again.  Stephen handmakes notebooks in various sizes and with a variety of different coverings, in addition to providing a repair service.

For the last three years we have supported Guide Dogs and they will be back with us in both November and December with their tombola and a selection of Guide Dog merchandise, so do come along and support this very worthwhile cause.

We also have a new guest crafter with us in November.  Tom from Tyne Bank Studio will be coming along with a selection of his paintings.

As always we will be having a kids' crafting session.  We charge £1 per item per child for this and all proceeds go to Guide Dogs.

You can register your interest in our November market day by clicking HERE and clicking onto either the "going" or "interested" buttons.

02 December

We haven't finalised our plans for this market day yet but I can tell you that Charlie Cards, TC Crafts, Powertex Northumberland and Newcastle, Hearts'n'Horseshoes, AyVee Jewellery Design, Greylord's Bookbinding Services, Handmade Miniature Doors and Guide Dogs are all likely to be there.

In addition Elizabeth from Craftee Thoughts will be back with us after a month off.

and we are also expecting Kim from Vimbo Crafts to be back with us after a short break.  Kim makes a variety of different crocheted items but is renowned for her novelty hats, and also makes beautiful little girl's tutus.

So put these two dates into your diary now folks - Sunday 26 November and Saturday 2 December.

We won't be back until March 2018 and I will let you know the exact date once it has been confirmed.

Thank you for visiting our blog.
