Merry Christmas and Happy New Year...

Hello, hello!

Last Thursday we wrapped up the latest Scene Progression Break Down video series over on the Sweet November Stamps Youtube channel. This one finds the cute moose and bunny from the Signs of the Season set holding their holiday signs on the street corner for all the passer-byes to see. The background is from the City Sidewalks set, which makes setting the festive scene pretty quick and easy. The coloring of each step took place over the past six weeks, so if you wanna check out how this all came together you know were to go.  ;)

Have a good one!

Merry Christmas...

Hey, hey!

I've been wanting to take this wizard from the Impronte d'Autore Always Believe in Magic set and turn him into a Father Christmas image for almost a year now, really ever since I got this set from Crafty Purple Frog, who has a nice selection of Impronte d'Autore clear stamp sets. Besides giving him Christmas colored robes, the only alteration I made was to sketch in the staff and lantern that he is holding. I think he definitely captures that old world charm as he makes his way through the snow on this Christmas Eve night. I don't know what it is, because I have plenty of actual Christmas stamps still waiting to make it onto cards but it is especially fun to take a non-holiday stamp and turn it into a magical Christmas card like this.  :)

Stay crafty my friends!

The sweetest moments of the season...

Hey there!

I was going through the pile of stamped scenes that I have sitting on my desk and found these cute Candy Cane Mice from Colorado Craft Company waiting to make it onto a card. I love having these all ready to go for when I'm short on crafty time, I could simply grab my markers and start coloring. I'm such a fan of Anita Jeram's charming art work and it's been too long since I've gotten crafty with the sets in my stash, so bringing this sweet image to life felt really good. I kept the snowy background scene rather simple, letting the sky fade into white up at the top of the card where the sentiment was stamped. I like how this let's all the warm colors really pop.  :)

Well, thanks for stopping by... have a good one!

The magic of the season...

Good morning!

I was busy drawing this weekend so I didn't have time to make a new card for today. Instead, here's another card that was made during a past Live over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page. This cute Christmas Scrappy was a free digi during this year's World Card Making Day celebration at Sweet November Stamps and he's now available for purchase in the Sweet November Stamps store. I had sketched in the stocking before the Live started and we ended up coloring in the Christmas tree during out time together. It all came together to tell a sweet Christmas morning story that is just as cute as can be.  :)

Later gators!

The sweetest little Christmas...

Hello again!

Yesterday we added the No Peeking digi collection to the Sweet November Stamps store. Included in the release are the No Peeking Santa, No Peeking Reindeer and No Peeking Elves. Because I went with a cohesive clean and simple design for the first three cards that I made using these fun Christmas images, I thought it yesterday's Live coloring on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page would be the perfect time to tackle a scene with one of them. So I printed out the cute No Peeking Santa once again and this time flipped him to the right hand side of the card front. During the Live I free handed in the staircase and large Christmas tree in the room behind Santa. For pretty much just winging it with the staircase idea, I gotta say that I'm quite pleased with how it all came together in the end. We also did our best to create a more crushed velvet look on Santa's suit for some additional playing around with textures. It was a really enjoyable morning of coloring made even better when you are left with a cute card to show for it all.  ;)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friends!

No Peeking!

Hello friends!

We've got a fun and playful Christmas themed digi release at Sweet November Stamps today. The collection is called, No Peeking because it includes three different stamps where classic Christmas characters are stacked and peeking out from a blind corner. There is the No Peeking Santa, No Peeking Reindeer and No Peeking Elves to choose from. The tallness of the images makes them great for spanning from top to bottom on your card front, leaving plenty of room to either expand the rest with a scene or utilize the white space for a clean and simple design. For my coordinating collection of cards I went with the CAS option which allowed me to use some of the larger sentiments in my collection that I rarely leave enough room for.

For my first card No Peeking Santa has been caught with the entire plate of cookies. With his sack of gifts strewn at his feet, the kiddos will just have to wait a little longer before Santa gets around to leaving them beneath the tree.

Next, the No Peeking Reindeer have found the barn door left wide open and they are piling out to go play some reindeer games in the snow.

Finally, the No Peeking Elves are all about celebrating their favorite day of the year. The joy and happiness of these pointy eared little cuties is completely infectious. If you would like to watch the coloring of this card there is a short Reel on Instagram and a longer speed coloring over on the Sweet November Stamps YouTube channel.

Now be sure to check out the Friends of Sweet November Stamps group on Facebook for even more No Peeking fun from the rest of our talented design team. Also, don't forget, I will be coloring Live today at 11am PDT over on my Adventures in Coloring with Amy Facebook page and I hope to see ya there!
