Twin bomb attack kills 13 in Iraq
US soldiers secure the area of a bomb attack on a US convoy in Baghdad
A US convoy in Baghdad came under attack
Thirteen people were killed in a double car bomb attack in central Iraq on Wednesday evening, police said.

Up to 30 people were wounded in the attack outside a car dealer's premises in the town of Jbeila, near the mainly Shia city of Hilla, south of Baghdad.

Police said the first bomb was followed minutes later by a second, hitting many civilians gathered nearby.

Meanwhile two US soldiers were injured by a roadside bomb that exploded next to their convoy in east Baghdad.

The blast occurred at about 0730 (0330 GMT) in the Sadr City neighbourhood, AP reported.

It caused a US army Humvee to career off the road and into a canal, said a spokesman for Task Force Baghdad.
