I'm refreshing my house with Ruckus R770 Wi-Fi access points. They require PoE++ and 10G back haul. This switch is perfect for running up to 4 of these APs. The software Omada controller is also pretty and works quite well. This is a great cost effective solution for Wi-Fi 7 APs.

Update: I've had the switch for a few months, and its been rock solid. Unlike others, I hear no fan noise. I have three Wi-Fi 7 APs, each drawing about 12w. The Omada SDN solution is also pretty robust, although not always the most intuitive UI. Strong recommend for Wi-Fi 7 APs.

Bought the TP-Link TL-SG3428XMP to replace Unifi network that was buggy and laggy. Found this unit with a good number of enterprise-level features and an excellent price point.

The setup was pretty straightforward and ran into no issues.

The network seems to be performing well with no issues.

My only complaint is that these fans are screamers and loud. I have a network closet that this is in, so not a big deal -- but still loud. I will eventually try to may use a Noctua low noise adapter to reduce.

Otherwise can't go wrong, especially at the price point and performance.

Junk, avoid if possible. Omada is just not ready for business class nor SDN. I have this switch along with three EAP660 HDs. The software controller is slow and needless confusing to use, yet at the same time leaves a lot of features unexposed or difficult to get to. There is iOS app, but it doesn't really let you configure anything, just view near unless statistics. The switch itself is very loud and subject to premature death. So, keep your receipt, you will need it. Additionally the APs when connected and powered by the switch are subject very short cabled runs. They can not hold a stable 2.5gbps link on runs 50 feet longer. Although this is not published anywhere on TP-link's site, support claims this is normal.

Update: I finally gave up on Omada and went back to the better vender.

Nice switch that does what it is supposed to do. To be honest I would have rather purchased a Ubiquiti switch to go with the rest of my home network but they were more double the price of this switch with basically the same features. Very happy with the purchase. It was easy to set up and configure.

The switch works as expected. Using two 10GB ethernet sfp modules I am getting the advertised speeds. The 2.5 GB ports also get their advertised speeds even over cat5e going through a patch panel at about 50-75 feet.

Also if you install the Omada software it will tell you some great stats on the switch and access points if you use them (I do).

TP-Link has made a great product, and they are all integrated with Omada at very reasonable price.

If you want switches and access points better than your typical router but not going all the way up to Cisco in complexity these make a great balance.

This prosumer model is perhaps a little overkill for my setup but I needed a managed 2.5gbps switch to distribute 2gbps fiber to multiple mesh satellites in AP mode.

Plugged everything in, worked right out of the box. I will eventually use this switch to set up VLAN's but for now it just works.

This product represents an excellent blend of features and performance. For my small SMB private cloud, I use this device as my core switch. My NAS and ESXi server occupy the 2x10 gpbs SFP ports, and my wireless and office terminate on the 2.5 gbps ports, where the wireless router supports multi-gig (2.5) LAN and the office has a small 2.5 gpbs switch, connected my desktop with an integrated 2.5 gbps NIC.

This allows me to optimize my speeds for all points of access with far fewer limitations. I can get full use of my 1.5 gpbs fibre connection everywhere now. Notably, were I a content creator transferring large file sets often, I would want 10gbps in the office as well. As is, I am developing/terraforming and providing services as VMs in VMWare more than moving large files. I am also using cloud services and maximizing my internet speeds more than anything else. This switch was perfect for my use case.

    Some notes:
    1) Its loud. I have it tucked away in a server rack, but I wouldn't want it on my desk.
    2) L2 features are excellent
    3) I could not register the product online - TP-Link doesn't recognize the serial number.

This switch is amazing. It powers everything just fine and it integrated perfectly with my OMADA setup. The fans are so loud so I'd recommend upgrading them with some 40mm notua fans. Be cautious though when replacing the fans because there are some rather large capacitors that can be deadly if discharged into your body. Never modify power related components like power supplies. With notua fans its quiet and fast. Would recommend

This thing is loud. Would not recommend for use outside of a closet.

I appreciate its interface and functionality. It worked out of the box with very little hassle. I was able to connect a few PoE devices to it and they were autodetected and worked without issue.

Really appreciate the combination of features: 8x2.5Gbe ports, PoE, VLAN and Link Aggregation support. However since I'm planning to return the new TP-Link EAP670 access point I got to pair with this, I'm not sure it's worth keeping this switch around since I could replace it with something slightly more expensive but less noisy and stay with a single management interface (i.e. ubiquiti).

FYI: There are online videos of people trying to reduce the noise by replacing the fans. Save yourself the trouble and don't even attempt this. The pinouts are very particular and replacement fans will move less air. Many of the online videos had followups that the switch died a few months later. This was probably due to the increased temperatures and replacing the fans also voided their warranty.

Still on the fence as to whether I will return this for refund. All I am sure about is that it's the loudest piece of equipment in the house.
