This week is Katrineholm festival week. This day was for the kids. Lots of activities. First image is a class from the music school that is entertaining. Second image is children having fun on the fitness equipment. And the third kids have fun crossing the small stream in the park.

Already August and soon we will have autumn in the north. I hope the warmest part of summer is now over. And we need rain. Everything is drying up now.

Trolle träsk ruin

Translated the name of this place is The Troll Swamp. A man named Porse Geet owned it in the 1300th century. It was built in a swamp to be safe from war. The stone walls are one meter thick. To get there you have to walk 500 m in the forest. Last 100m on a narrow boardwalk in the swamp. The lake is Djulö lake where I used to paddle a lot.

Sturehof castle

This is another of the smaller castles that I can reach within a 2h drive. But it was actually the first visit for me. A trouble with places like this is that they always seem to be renovating them when I come, so no fun to shoot them. The castle has a cafeteria and you can buy lunch. After we had some refreshment we walked down the avenue to the beach of lake Mälaren. This place is just south of Stockholm. They have some nice trees there. The two large dark ones is Blood Maple.

That was me from a hot Sweden. How is your place?

I have always liked trees and have lots of them in my files that I never got around to post. I assume that many of you have it too. So, for this meme is not about running around taking shots today. You can as well dig in your files for those gems never posted. Trees and bushes comes in many shapes and forms and they look different as the year go by. Many of them has flowers and are showing autumn colors. They change always.

View over a farm outside my town. A garden with different kind of trees, fields and forest in the background. Been pretty much the same for the last 100 years or so. We can be happy some of them are still working. They even have some cattle.

Eurasian wren

This is fallen trees obviously. But how it happened I have no clue. It is located at the side of the path going to the birding tower. I always look at it as I like the triangular shape they form. And this day the place hosted a noisy little wren.

My thanks to everyone that participated last week.

Summer is in full swing but I hope some of you still like to link up. Several other memes has summerbreaks but I will not. Not yet anyway. The future will depend of the computer problems and lack of patience.

I was in the forest yesterday looking for mushrooms. You should have seen me, dressed in a "hiding" suit, Covered from top to toe. Why? Moskitoes!!! The older I get the less I like them. Way below zero right now. Will soon have to make some decisions. Maybe later I will share what I look like when in the forest.

This time I share a privy. It is located in the forest and placed there by the lajv people. Looks like crap but I did take a look inside and they actually have cleaned it up. But those lajv people have spoild the forest more or less. There are benches and grills everywhere. They must be both lazy and hungry. They have even build an old fashioned prison. But now I am chatting. Over to the images of today.

I was driving by when I noticed this glowing heap of timber. So I had to turn back to take a few shots. Then I also noticed the high stub behind it. This piece of wood looked like a deer or something. But I think I have to go back to give it another try. I want the background blurred so the wood stands out. Then I can play with it.

Next week I probably set the meme on schedule and hopefully it works. I am going to switch to a new computer and that is frustrating as you all know. I will not be online as much as usual during until I´m finished.

Handkerchief tree

This is a tree that stands in our City Garden, next to the scene. A cool tree and, I think, the only one in town. It is native to China.
