Youth Media Project

2016 - Roseburg Workshop 1

The central Douglas County leg of the 2016Up2UsNow Youth Media Project is underway!   Lots of new faces this time around as well as some returning friends.  13 participants showed up to learn about the problem of abuse and how they can be part of the solution.  Ages range from 14-18 with a wide variety of skills and interests.

Marion and Cati both gave a brief orientation for the new participants - talking about abuse prevention, substance abuse, and  problem gambling.  There was a lot of energetic discussion and many of the participants have some great ideas.  The participants voted on which PSAs they wanted to produce as the workshop came to a close and there was much discussion on how to tweak the PSA scripts to be more effective.

The next couple of workshops will be geared towards getting everyone ready for a real video shoot on March 19th!

Thank you to Mike Hill for technical support and KPIC for letting us use their studio space!
