Overview
Twinkle Snow is the customary winter-themed level, though despite its theme it possesses surprisingly few "snow" gimmicks apart from thick snow that slows characters down, much like in Ice Mountain Zone from Sonic Advance. The northern lights can be seen in the skies at the top of the Zone.
Minecarts offer a quick ride through portions of this Zone, along with ice machines that will suck up characters, then launch them in a frozen state (though freezing in this game is harmless). There are also catapults embedded on walls that the player can interact with by holding to make them sink slowly (and will sink faster if both characters are crouching on it), then release to be catapulted into the air. There is also a sideways variant of the catapults that the player must push to use it.
Water is present within the Zone, though it is mostly avoidable by taking a high route (this also helps avoid the bottomless pits, something many levels in Sonic Advance 3 have); however, Act 2 has a mandatory water section near the end, so the player will need to use air bubbles as necessary.
Enemies
Ginpe — A penguin robot that waddles back and forth and shoots projectiles from its top hat.
Hariisen — A pufferfish Badnik found in underwater areas. Puffs up and fires spikes in six directions when approached.
Yadokka — A hermit crab robot found in underwater areas. Fires its shell like a rocket similar to the Turbo Spiker.
Yukigasen — A snowman robot that remains stationary and lobs snowballs like a pitching machine. |
