What's the reason for two plates? XFM-225 and the smaller DLG-813 on the front and rear side

DLG 813 is probably the fleet plate. Some bus companies used this type of identifier on a baby plate which was far too small to conform to number plate regulations.

Crosville used quite complex fleetnumbers. DLG813 was the fleetnumber as you say. G indicates a Gardner engine; it's a 1956 Bristol Lodekka LD6G bodied by Eastern Coachworks with a convertible open top body.
