Surely "convertible coupe" is not the model. Should read model - Packard 2631 or series 2631. Body - 2679 convertible coupe. And this is a Standard Convertible - to distinguish it from the 2678 Custom Convertible, otherwise known as the Caribbean. Interestingly, the book says that this model should have three 'jet louvres' under the rear fender spear, but they seem to be missing from this (almost new) car! -- Last edit: 2010-08-20 09:53:07 |

nzcarnerd, according pakardinfo.com Link to "packardinfo.com" the two 1953 convertibles were the Packard Caribbean Convertible and the Convertible Coupe and in that page those are the "model name" but, maybe, "Coupe" could go only in extra info. In these two ads. also can be seen the Convertibles with http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/packard/53pack/bilder/13.jpg and without http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/packard/53pack/bilder/16.jpg the three 'jet louvres' (in parkardinfo page, only the Packard with those three louvres is showed) . The Caribbean had whole uncovered its rear wheel. |
