If you want a nickname, rather 'Gills Coupe' in the US? |

According to the comment here, DynaMike states that 1967 was first year in US. Others we have listed as 1966: /vehicle.php?id=334330 I'm not home now to check my reference books. -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 21:11:31 |

Did this English version of the nickname exist? |

Found a 1966 brochure on eBay, shows a Sport Coupe model as one of the five available: Link to "www.ebay.com" Link to "www.ebay.com" Link to "www.ebay.com" ![]() ![]() And the 1965 Opel colors brochure, which shows the older model: Link to "www.ebay.com" -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 21:26:10 |

In some places they are still used but unsure if that was the official name |

I've never heard those names used over here, it was the Deluxe Sport Coupe and Rallye The brochures for both 1966 and 1967 show fender badges of "Kadett L" -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 22:39:41 |

The trim level for the Coupe in DE was AFAIK L (please don't list as AFAIK L), so Deluxe Sport Coupe would fit. But, strangely, Deluxe is not used even as an option in the brochure shown above, for the two-door (optional) and four-door sedans it is. In the second ebay brochure it is called Deluxe Sport Coupe. -- Last edit: 2017-07-23 22:51:38 |

Opel Kadett, Buick's Opel Kadett or Buick Opel Kadett in the US? |
◊ 2017-07-23 23:08 |
Just Opel Kadett. The Buick Opel by Isuzu (1976-79) was a different model all together. |

I think this was settled a while back, the German-made ones were Opels, the Japanese ones were Buick/Opels. |

1966 ad above uses Opel Kadett by Buick, so it would fit well |
