Mailing Lists for XML Developers

Notes

The Mailing Lists

CF-XML

This list provides a technical forum for Cold Fusion developers who are using - or want to start using - XML in their applications.

GenealogyXML

The purpose of this group is to discuss the application of XML to genealogical projects. Potential topics include XML, specifications on how XML should be used for genealogical reporting, vocabularies like GedML, GeniML, and GEDCOM 6.0, conversion of GEDCOM to XML, genealogy visualization tools, advice on XML and XSLT, and so on. Although this group is not a genealogy standards committee, discussion of current/proposed standards and models are viable topics. Restraint should be used when posting messages not directly related to genealogy and/or XML.

MusicXML

The MusicXML e-mail list discusses MusicXML software and usage issues. If you are a MusicXML software developer, this is a great place to ask questions and share experiences.

Perl-XML

SVG-Mobile

The development of SVG Mobile profiles (SVG Basic and SVG Tiny) opens up new avenues for using SVG. The SVG-Mobile mailing list is intended to facilitate discussion on topics relevant to the use of SVG on mobile platforms.

XML-APP

XML-APP is an informal, unmoderated mailing list created to support those who are interested in developing XML applications. This mailing list differs from XML-DEV in that it is intended to promote deployment of XML standards in real world applications. Only the topics related to the application of XML technology are appropriate for this mailing list. XML-APP represents the "dwarvish" aspect of the XML community, down in the dirt and slime, working feverishly to make things work, and hounded by over-hype and deadlines. Throw the theories and elegant designs out the window, pull up your sleeves, and come join the discussions.

What tools have you found that make your job easier? These are the sorts of questions that are asked and answered on the list.
