Dean, I borrowed  a copy of "Hands on Agronomy" through library loan. I 
think it does a good job of talking about such problems. Such as  determinig 
wheter to use gypsum, or lime, etc. to add porosity.I have very heavy soil 
here, have taken soil samples, and this winter will get them tested to 
determine just what ammendments to add.
