Re: [nafex] Persimmon recommendations for zone 5

I have Early Golden persimmon which ripens very well. In fact I go out and
pick the ripe ones and eat them raw. They have a butterscotch type taste.
I planted a seedling male a few years ago so I get a larger crop now. Even
without a pollinator I used to get a small crop. I am in SW Iowa in the
Loess Hills. Some maps we are in Zone 5 and some maps appear to show us in
Zone 4. I have a micoclimate on my place that is better as I am on the
south end of a small town that is higher altitude so I avoid early and late
frosts. Judson L. Frisk
