Gianni,
James Beard grew up in the area of Portland, Oregon, and other reports I
have heard came from as far north as Chehalis, Washington. I don't know if
there would be an all-over zone rating, as altitude and distance from water
can create different microclimates in gardens only a few miles apart--my
friends in a nearby hilly area are consistently 4 to 6 degrees colder than
me at nights.
