Del, 15 years ago might not have gotten too many really old varieties, but
you know, if the the rootstocks were seedlings, you might find some new
varieties sprung up from the roots and already tested for coldhardiness.
The question is how thorough were they, did they use herbicides to make sure
the trees were really dead.  And the next question is how thorough were the
deer in finishing off any new sprouts.  Donna
