Complex 46

This dual use launch facility is located on the tip of the Cape, Complex 46 was built to service the US Navy's TRIDENT II ballistic missile pad launch series of tests. Between its completion in 1986 and the beginning of the sea-launch tests in 1989, nineteen missiles were launched from this pad. This site underwent major modification in 1997 to construct facilities to support the Spaceport Florida Authority and Lockheed Martin Athena class launch vehicle missions and is currently active.
