AO-52 Almirante Montt

This ship is the fourth class of "Henry J. Kaiser" constructed fleet tankers for the United States Navy. Beginning in 1996 remained in condition of subject, up to the year 2009 in which began the transfer process to the Armada de Chile, officially incorporated on February 10, 2010, being renamed "Almirante Montt" and intended to resupply at sea to the units of the Navy, in replacement of the old tanker "Araucano", who is serving life with 43 years of service. After passing through a period of overhaul at the American port of Mobile, it arrived in the country in April 2010. The "Almirante Montt", with its 42 thousand tons full load displacement is the largest that I served at the institution, surpassing the battleship "Almirante Latorre", operated by the National Navy between 1920 and 1958.
