DoD Announces Recruiting and Retention Numbers for August 2007


           

 

 

The Department of Defense announced today its recruiting and retention statistics for the Active and Reserve components for the month of August.

• Active Duty Enlisted Recruiting.

Monthly. All four services met or exceeded recruiting goals for August.

Active Duty Retention. Retention remains extremely strong in the active force with all services meeting or exceeding their aggregate year-to-date targets. We anticipate that all services will meet their fiscal year retention goals in all categories.

• Reserve Forces Enlisted Accessions.

Monthly. Four of the six Reserve components met or exceeded their accession goals for August 2007.

Reserve Retention.  Losses in all Reserve components are within acceptable limits. We expect August 2007 to continue at the current trend. (Note: This indicator lags by one month).
