DoD Announces Recruiting and Retention Numbers for April


           

            The Department of Defense announced today its recruiting and retention statistics for the active and reserve components for the month of April.

 

  • Active duty recruiting.  All services exceeded their recruiting goals in April.

  • Active duty retention.  All services are projected to meet their retention goals for the current fiscal year.

  • Reserve forces retention.  For April, Army National Guard retention was 110 percent of the cumulative goal of 19,795, and Air National Guard retention was 102 percent of its cumulative goal of 5,612.  Both the Army and Air Guard are currently at 97 and 99 percent of their end strength, respectively.  Losses in all reserve components for March are well within acceptable limits.  Indications are that trend will continue into April.
