U.S. National Park Service
The U.S. National Park Service (NPS) is a government agency which cares for a network of nearly 400 natural, cultural and recreational sites in the United States. It was the first national system of parks in the world to be set aside by citizens to preserve, protect, and share the many legacies with future generations. The NPS is perhaps best known for its efforts in maintaining natural wonders such as the Grand Canyon, but monuments such as the Statue of Liberty, and historic sites like Gettysburg are also under NPS supervision.[1]
