Huldrych Zwingli, Huldreich Zwingli, Ulrich Zwingli or Ulricht Zwingli (Born::January 1, 1484 – Died::October 11, 1531) was a leader of the Reformation in Switzerland.
Biography
Zwingli was born in 1484 into a wealthy family of the middle class in Wildhaus, Canton of St. Gallen, Swiss Confederation. He was the third of eight children. His father was a farmer and the chief magistrate of Wildhaus. [1] His family decided to give him an education and prepare him for priesthood.[2] In 1519 he became the 'people's priest' as the Great Minster at Zürich, an important ecclesiastical position there.[3]
