Bulk Plugin Management

Use our intuitive Plugin Management tool to efficiently manage and update the plugins across all of your WordPress.com sites, all in one centralized dashboard.

This feature is available on sites with the WordPress.com Business or Commerce plan.

Manage Plugins

You may access the Plugin Management tool here or by:

  1. Logging into WordPress.com.
  2. Clicking the W logo in the top-left corner to view all sites.
  3. Clicking Plugins.
  4. Clicking Manage Plugins.

On this page, you will see the plugins installed across all of the sites where you have the Administrator role on WordPress.com.

You can easily update the plugins that require updates by clicking the blue Update # Plugins button in the top-right corner.

By default, this page shows all of your plugins. You can filter your plugins by clicking the Status button and choosing one of the following options:

  • Active: All of the plugins that have at least one active install on one of your sites.
  • Inactive: All of the plugins that are inactive across all of your sites.
  • Needs update: Any plugin that requires an update.

You may also change the appearance, sorting, and properties shown on this page by clicking the gear icon in the right corner.

The Manage Plugins page offers various bulk operations for each individual plugins; you can access these operations by clicking the three dot icon in the Actions column:

  • Manage Plugin: Takes you to the plugin page where you can more granularly manage the plugin installs across all of your sites. More details below.
  • Activate: Activates the selected plugin on all sites on which it is installed.
  • Deactivate: Deactivates the selected plugin on all sites on which it is installed.
  • Enable Autoupdate: Your selected plugin will update on all sites as soon as an update becomes available.
  • Disable Autoupdate: Disables autoupdates across all of your sites. The selected plugin will require manual or scheduled updates.
  • Remove: Deactivates and removes the selected plugin from all sites.

Manage Plugin

When you click the Manage Plugin option in the Actions column, you’ll be taken to the plugin’s page. Click the Manage sites button to manage the installations, activations, autoupdates, and removals for each of your sites.

You’ll see a list of the sites where the selected plugin is installed, as well as toggles to:

  • Activate/deactivate the plugin
  • Enable/disable autoupdates for the plugin

Below, you’ll see any additional sites on which the plugin is not installed and an Install button for each site. If you see a Go to plugin page button on your site instead, that means that the site is not on a plugin-enabled plan and must be upgraded to a Business or Commerce plan in order to install the plugin.
