SIZE: For 18 1/2" chest Length from shoulder. 11 1/2"
MATERIALS: 4 oz of a lightweight crochet cotton Size E crochet hook Size F crochet hook 2 small buttons.
Gauge: 22 hdc to 4" worked on size E crochet hook.
To save time, take time to check the guage.
SIZE: For 11 1/2 inch fashion doll.
Front yoke: Using smaller hook, ch 49 and beg at lower edge.
Base row: 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, * 1 hdc in next ch, rep from * to end. Turn. 48 hdc.
1st row: Ch 2 to count as first hdc, skip first hdc, * 1 hdc in next hdc, rep from *, ending with last hdc in 2nd of ch-2. Turn The first row forms pat.
Shape armholes: Next row: Sl st across first 4 hdc, work in pat to last 4 hdc. Turn. 40 hdc. Work even until fron yoke measures 2" from beg.
Shape neck: Next row: Work in pat across 10 hdc. Turn. Complete this side first. Work even until front yoke measures 3 1/2" from beg. Fasten off. Skip center 20 hdc for front neck, rejoin yarn to next hdc, ch 2, work in pat to end. Complete to match first side.
Right back yoke: Using smaller hook, ch 25. Work base row as for front yoke. 24 hdc. Work one row in pat.
Shape armhole: Next row: Sl st across first 4 hdc, work in pat to end. Turn. Cont on these 20 hdc until back yoke measures 2" from beg, ending at armhole edge.
Next row: Work in pat across the first 10 hdc. Turn. Work even on these 10 sts until back yoke measures same as front yoke to shoulder. Fasten off.
Left back yoke: Work as for right back yoke, reversing shaping.
Sleeve ruffle: Sew shoulder and side seams. Using smaller hook and with WS of work facing, work 37 sc along straight edge of armhole. Change to larger hook and beg shell pat as foll:
Next row: Ch 3, 2 dc in first sc, * skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc, skip 1 sc, 5 dc in next sc - called shell -, rep from *, ending last rep with 3 dc in last sc. Turn.
Next row: Ch 3, 2 dc in first dc, * 1 dc in next dc between shells, 5 dc in 3rd dc of next shell, rep from *, ending last rep with 3 dc in last dc. Turn. Rep last row once more. Fasten off. Sew 3/4" of side edges of ruffle to underarm shaping at back and front.
Skirt: Using smaller hook and with WS of work facing, rejoin yarn to lower edge of yoke and cont as foll:
Next row: Ch 1, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, * 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each of next 10 sc, rep from * 7 more times, 2 sc in next sc, 1 sc in each sc to end. Turn 105 sc. Change to larger hook. Work in shell pat as for sleeves for 7 1/2" more. Fasten off.
To Finish: Press under a damp cloth with a warm iron. Sew back seam to within 3 1/2" of neck.
Edging: With RS of work facing and using smaller hook, work 1 row sc around neck and along each side of back opening. Sew one small button to top and one to lower edge of yoke opening. Make button loops to correspond. Press seams.
