Podcast platforms unfortunately insist on square images for their episodes, so I had to truncate this Rembrandt etching to fit a square space. You miss the donkey at the bottom right, and you only get one of the angel’s bare feet at the top right as he soars out of the picture space and out of our world. Rembrandt must have had great fun drawing this part of the picture, and so must the model, probably balanced precariously on a stepladder above the artist.
Here is the thing, the proper size. I haven't photographed my own copy but have got a properly scanned picture from The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
