Testing My Mettle

 If (or is it when?) my Typepad blog dies, perhaps I will quit blogging. Twenty years is a long time and how much writing do I have left in me? However, I like to have some options, so here I am...back at Blogger to occasionally test it out with posts. Actually, I'm more testing myself; can I adapt to change? Am I willing to stumble around on a new site, trying to figure things out? CAN THIS OLD DOG LEARN NEW TRICKS?  Those of you who know me from Stargazer are aware that I love to post photos and they usually jump start my writing, which then tends to meander around. Life is like that though, isn't it? It doesn't go in a straight line, so why should my blog? Here I'm seeing how inserting a picture works. This mobile grooming van in my neighborhood had an interesting name! I'm not sure how to work with the formatting though. It is crooked and doesn't look good. Am I supposed to write around the picture instead of doing so underneath it? Hmmm. This time I'm ...

Wednesday Rambling

 Life is windy, rainy, and kind of depressing. Both little boys are sick (hand, foot and mouth disease) and the littlest grandson still doesn't like to sleep at night. (or during the day either) I don't like the way these top two photos crisscrossed; I'll need to figure that out. But at least this picture of me walking in the wind isn't sideways like it appears on Typebad. (new name for my primary blogging site)

Playing Around

 Frankly, I would prefer to stay on Typepad where my archives are. It's tough to adapt to changes although I do like many things about Blogger and WordPress. Free Blogger isn't as customizable as WP although it seems a little easier. It's mostly just adjusting. Unless typepad fixes its photo problems (the RSS feed appears to be back), I'll have to make a decision about where to go. Both places perhaps?  John and I went to the zoo with his younger daughter and her family. Although I loved all the animals, the young polar bears were my favorite. SO playful and fun!  Baby holding is the best! I wish he slept better, but as his Granny, I will help out as much as I can because I know he (and my younger daughter) need me.

Thank you, Blogger, for putting my sunset photo in the correct orientation. (click to see it even bigger!) I would write about John and my trip to the Fair here but I'm exhausted after fighting with typepad, trying to insert pictures into my post. What a PITA!

Trying' it Out

 Ok, I'm giving Blogger a try--experimenting. I don't know that typepad will ever be fixed and feel like it will go away eventually. Will I be able to keep my archives, those 20 years of my past? I just don't know. I'm tired of uncertainty. Can an old dog learn new tricks ie a different blog platform? We shall see. Here is a gratuitous photo of me in my Blackbeard's tee. It went in fine but I'm having trouble putting it where I want it. I added this great photo of John to see what happened. I can move it left, right or center. I don't like the way it looks currently but it's better than typepad's sideways or upside down! I'll be giving this place a try to experiment with the tools. 😐 So far, this platform is fairly easy but seems bland. However, it's also free, unlike the misbehaving typepad.

For those who come over from Blogger(Hello!), I do have a typepad blog that I mainly use. For its URL, e-mail me. (click on "view my complete profile," and then on e-mail) Since this site is linked up with my school district group site, I don't want to post my private blog address on this.
