Blogrolls were a common feature in early websites. A list of blogs you follow. A checklist of places to look at. Advertising our web friendships. Blogrolls were the beginning of today's social web.
It's time to take a fresh look at the humble blogroll.
Some of the new features:
Real-time updates.
List sorted by name or time.
Expand a blog to see recent posts.
See when each blog was updated.
Keyboard navigation.
This list is a set of blogs I'm using as part of the blogroll on Scripting News, specified in OPML, the standard for feed list exchange.
When this product is ready, you will be able to supply your own list, and display it anywhere.
And even better we can use it to bootstrap a new kind of social network! 😀
Dave Winer, March 2024.
PS: I'm only showing the 40 most recently updated feeds.
PPS: The realtime stuff is coming from FeedLand. I've set up a special server just for blogrolls.
