Five-Year Survivor Rates
For all the wasted money in the U.S. health care industry, some of the money spent leads to good things. We have higher 5-year survivor rates than other developed countries. Not for every cancer, but we are one or two across the board, pretty much. Hopefully, nationalizing ever more of the industry doesn't change this situation.

The Rule of Law
Does the president really have a line item veto? Even if not officially given one. Probably. But, just like overturning the filibuster, it could come back to bite the people who want it to exist now.

Yelling "fire" in a theatre
I don't think I ever realized what case that phrase comes from. A US Supreme Court justice justifying the Espionage Act of 1917. Yikes.
Don't blame the tools
There are so many misconceptions to the Gun Control Debate. But, one interesting one is how studies measure the idea that states with loose gun laws have higher rates of gun violence. First, there is the suicide fact that around 2/3 are suicides. But, probably more interestingly is that studies that make this claim count guns sold legally (which there are going to be more of in loose gun laws states no matter what) but not legally and have to include guns sold in that state that were used in crimes else where.
the 2000 Election
No, it's not as simple as you've been told. And yes, it all started with a decision by Al Gore's team. It's not really turtles all the way down, but it's close.
Long Term Unemployment
Just really sucks. The question is what to do about it, given the importance of employment to the American dream.
What I really hate is that the current problem/s drives people to advocate even harder for something they want to happen already. It's just an excuse for whatever they already believe.

Why Every one needs to worry about on-line privacy
The biggest reason I think is that you probably have committed a federal felony, just because the law is written so vaguely. Other reasons are that we've seen this story before, and yes the government has abused their power for political reasons. And there is just a problem with giving any group of people this amount of power can be abused.
