Visiting an exhibition

A most wonderful wall of equal-sized paintings (132) by Andreas Vanpoucke a Belgian fine art painter who partially also lives in France. The figures he paints seem to breath like real life people and his thinly spread paint is superbly used to create his light and shadows.

I participated with my paintings in a local art-creative-selfmade market en bought this wooden postcard from a lady who amongst others makes wonderful collages also. Original isn't it ?

Meeting Aldo Balding

I had the great pleasure to meet Aldo Balding a wonderful artist painter. He was in Antwerp, our town, in order to paint a commissioned portrait. As I type he is on his way to the airport to fly home. He is a very nice person, without artistic pretences or *allures* with whom you feel immediately at ease. We had a nice chat and passed an agreeable moment at our home.

The House of the Mosque by Kader Abdolah

My rating: 5 of 5 stars


Excellent book of the life in Iran/Persia, its culture, the influences of the imams, the changes which happened when the Shah was banned and Komeini came to power. In The Netherlands it was rated as the second best novel ever published. A must read.

I've bought this painting from a Dutch artist living in Great Britain. It is oil on convas, 6O x 5O cm and I was in love with it at first sight. However it will be the last artwork I buy because I'm short of walls and storing space.
