Christmas Caturday!

It was time to take another Christmas Photo and it went about as well as last year.

Didn't quite get the shot before Ivy decided to leave

Ivy was happy to have her photo taken as long as no one else was in it

Adrianne got bored

This year I thought it would be nice to do a bit of a Christmas family photo for the blog.

It went really well...

Merry Christmas from all of us at On the Windy Side (Adrianne, Jennifer, Ralph and Ivy)!  We hope you have a lovely relaxing, laughter-filled break with friends and family.  Ralph also hopes you get to eat a lot of ham.

No cats were harmed in the taking of this photo (but some cats were annoyed and many cat treats were eaten).

Obviously Ralph is referring to the hard work he and Ivy have put into improving their hide and seek skills since Ivy's last attempt.

Actually, they're both extremely good at becoming invisible, particularly when you're in a hurry to leave the house and are trying to make sure you're not going to accidentally shut them in a bedroom. Eventually you'll find them watching you calmly from a gloomy spot underneath something. It's this sort of thing that earns them the affectionate nickname 'little devils'.

The adventures of Mama Mouse and Papa Mouse

Once upon a time there was a Mama Mouse and a Papa Mouse.

 

At first they look like ordinary little mice.

 

But if you look more closely, you will find that they are actually rather special.

 

With a pretty coloured band around their tummies, they are Fair Isle mice.

And now they have come to live at my house and entertain my cats.  If you follow me on instagram, you will see that they are popular additions to the household.

These very cute little mice were knitted by my mum using this pattern (there is also a pattern for teeny tiny baby mice).  Wasn't she nice to make a present for her grand-cats?

If anyone would like to make themselves an owl pal, the devil-cats that preside over my house recently created a plethora of unusable cardboard tubes. Anyone is welcome to them*.
