New posts won't save and I can't rebuild. I get an error message each time.

I'm not sure what caused it, but some of the file permissions in your archive directory were out of whack. I've seen this happen before, so I think it's a software glitch, not anything you might have done.
I've reset the permissions, and it all should be fine now.
