Bill Hemmer, former co-host of CNN's American Morning, is joining Fox News Channel as a midday anchor and reporter.
Hemmer spent 10 years at CNN as an anchor and reporter. He started his TV career as a sports anchor for WCPO Cincinnati. No word yet on how soon Hemmer will go on the air at FNC. Posted by mhking at July 19, 2005 06:06 PM | TrackBackFox is solidly out in front of CNN in ratings, but executives and anchors from the networks often swipe at the competition.
Hemmer lost his American Morning post last month when CNN opted to bring in Miles O’Brien.
The network offered Hemmer a spot as White House correspondent, which he rejected.
Wow! The S.S. Turner is sinking
Posted by: Duane at July 20, 2005 07:40 PMCNN is becoming incredibly mediocre. Lou Dobbs is the only one worth watching in the whole network.
Posted by: Cesar at July 22, 2005 10:51 AMI am wainting to see if Mr. Hemmer will be on Fox News, you let a good man go. Lou Dobbs is very good, so is Soledad O'Brien. Is MR. Hemmer with Fox Now? I've been waiting to see him again. Too bad you let him go.
Posted by: Eleanor Molinaro at August 17, 2005 09:39 PMI think CNN made a mistake by letting Bill Hemmer go on American Morning. Miles O'Brien, I believe, can be very rude when he interviews individuals. Bill, you are missed!
Posted by: dawn at August 19, 2005 08:02 AMMr. Hemmer, you are missed !!
CNN wasn't wiser enough to let you leave,
they don't know what they are missing indeed.
Can't believe Bill Hemmer is gone. I woke up one morning and he wasn't on with Soledad. How sad. The chemistry between them was so great. Sorry but Miles doesn't cut it. Guess I'll have to switch over to Fox.
