A new, old racer Alex Block, along with a nice Ferrari 330P4, also had this neat pit uniform his dad wound up with.

Everything but the segmented stripes is embroidered.

I pulled up the back of the shirt to show the green pants.

Very cool. A special era of motorsport.

Thank you, and Alex, for sharing this, Mike.

When F1 used to end the season at the Glen, the teams would sell off as much stuff as they could so they did not have to bring it home. It was not unusual to see racers at Elmsford wearing Lotus, etc., mechanics overalls.

I hear the team watches were the hot ticket to buy back in the day...

As promised, the Rothmans Porsche sweater I have as well. I really enjoy wearing either of these bits of automotive history around and see the responses I get from people.

Also, a vintage Porsche sweater a friend brought my dad from the Factory in the early '80s

Hey Alex ,I used to live in Scherwood Lake.  I am still reeling from the closure of Illiana Speedway!

Wakinshaws shop was just east of the university in Valpo. Knew a few guys who worked there, Australians and Brits. They hung out at a pub on old Lincoln Hyway called the Franklin House. Rowdy bunch.

Hah, small world!  I'm hoping the deal for Illiana goes through and they get a new operator.

My cousin knew a few guys on the team (he was a dealer mechanic) and when they disbanded, he got some swag from them, and gave my dad 2 pit uniforms.  He ended up selling one at a slot car swap meet and kept the other one that I have now.
