Bimini is made of two principal islands--North Bimini Island and South Bimini Island--and several cays. The annals of Bimini is as intriguing as the isles themselves. Merely 50 miles in the United States, they served as a handy offshore speakeasy and liquor retailer during prohibition. Rumrunners used to keep their stash on the nearby coasts. And speaking of rum, Ernest Hemingway called Bimini his summer dwelling.
