Android Engineer / LINE Sticker

Position Outline

Responsible for the development of Sticker-related features within the "LINE" Android app.

Job Details

In this position, you will autonomously handle the development of Sticker-related features within the "LINE" Android app, while maintaining smooth communication with stakeholders in a Scrum team.

Mission/Goals

  • We develop various products to make communication in "LINE" chat rooms more emotional and enjoyable, starting with Stickers.
  • We aim to improve development productivity through large-scale rearchitecting being carried out across the app.

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and development of Sticker-related features within the "LINE" Android app as part of a Scrum team.
  • Write unit-test code to ensure robustness.
  • Performance tuning of the app.
  • Proposing to product planning from a professional developer's perspective.
  • Code review.
  • Maintenance of development documentation.

Development of Sticker-related features within the "LINE" messenger app (with the potential to be involved in other Sticker-related apps in the future).

Required Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree of Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in Android development with Kotlin.
  • Team development involving code reviews.

Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Experience with Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience in developing apps that interact with Web Servers.
  • Experience in developing large-scale apps.
  • Experience in communicating in Japanese with team members.

Salary

Expected annual salary: JPY 8,000,000 to JPY 15,000,000
Form of salary: Monthly salary (including fixed overtime allowance)
Standard monthly salary: JPY 534,000 to JPY 1,001,000

 ―Base salary: JPY 414,000 to JPY 778,000
 ―Fixed overtime allowance: JPY 119,000 to JPY 223,000

Fixed overtime allowance of 35 hours will be provided, regardless of whether overtime work is performed.
 Note 1: Overtime allowance is paid separately for overtime work in excess of the fixed 35 hours.
 Note 2: Names of items related to monthly salary vary depending on the grades.
 Bonuses are granted a maximum of two times a year. The amount is determined by factors including the company's and your department's performance.

Work Location

Japan (You can live anywhere as long as you reside in Japan.)
You may be required to report to your assigned office to work.

The offices are wheelchair accessible.
Note on measures against passive smoking: In principle, no smoking indoors (smoking rooms are available).

Work Hours

Flextime system: standard work hours 7 hours 45 minutes (no core hours)
Start and end times are up to the individual. However, the company's standard working hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m.
Note: Some departments may operate on the standard work hours (9:30 a.m. - 6:15 p.m.), while others may have a shift schedule.
