Accident Investigation
Amazon will conduct an appropriate investigation if we receive a report of an incident involving a product from a customer or if we have other concerns about the safety of a product. Based on the results of the investigation, we will take necessary actions such as recalling products, suspending sales, and notifying customers. In addition to customer inquiries to our call center, we also monitor customer reviews on each product page and products that have been returned, and conduct accident investigations when we discover safety concerns about individual products.
Cooperation with external parties
In order to guarantee the safety and security of our customers, we are promoting activities in cooperation with various organizations.
NITE (National Institute of Technology and Evaluation)
Since 2018, we have entered into an "Agreement on Cooperation in Activities Related to Product Safety" to promote cooperation in the sharing and analysis of product safety information, as well as the dissemination of information via Amazon Anshin Email to alert the public.

National Consumer Affairs Center
In 2019, Amazon signed an agreement with the National Consumer Affairs Center to cooperate in the dissemination of information on product safety. The National Consumer Affairs Center will provide information on accidents and press releases to Amazon in advance, and Amazon will promptly inform and alert customers through postings on its website and email distribution. This will help prevent accidents caused by products purchased by customers and prevent them from further occurring, thereby providing a safer and more secure shopping experience.

Japan Coast Guard
In order to promote safety and accident prevention at sea, we are working together to raise awareness about marine leisure sports equipment (canoes, etc.). In particular, we are promoting the communication and dissemination of safe usage to customers, mainly through Amazon Anshin Email distribution in conjunction with the Water Safety Guide prepared by the Japan Coast Guard.
Ministry of the Environment
In order to reduce fires in garbage trucks and processing facilities, starting in 2021, we have begun issuing alerts via Amazon Anshin regarding the disposal of lithium-ion batteries.
We are also working on other initiatives in cooperation with various government agencies.
