Apple has claimed that the chipset on the iPhone 16 is 30% faster than the A16 Bionic chipset on the iPhone 15. It is claimed to deliver the same performance as its predecessor with 30% less power. The GPU performance is up to 40% faster than the iPhone 15’s GPU and is claimed to offer similar performance with 35% less power. The new chipset brings support for AAA games such as Resident Evil Biohazard and Assassin's Creed Mirage. It also brings support for the new Honor of Kings World. For example, you can take a picture of a restaurant, and Visual Intelligence will provide details about its hours and other pertinent information. New Delhi: Ingka Centres, a part of Ingka Group that operates IKEA retail, will invest 607 million euros (about Rs 5,500 crore) to set up its second meeting place in India at Noida under the Lykli brand, taking its overall investment in the country to a 1 billion euros, according to the company's Global Expansion &amp; Development Director Sebastian Hylving. It is betting big on the Indian market and is looking at expanding where IKEA plans to open its outlets in the country, although the opening of its first meeting place in Gurugram -- Lykli Gurugram -- has been pushed to 2026 from the originally planned opening in late 2025. The company on Monday unveiled the second IKEA-anchored meeting place in India at Noida which will offer a blend of retail, dining, hospitality, co-working spaces, entertainment, and cultural experiences tailored to the needs of modern urban residents. "It (Lykli Noida) is at an investment of 607 million euro...that investment is purely for the Noida project, and then we have an investment for GMP (Gurugram meeting place) as well. So I think it's around 1 billion (euro) in total for the two first projects and we don't see that it will stop with these two centres," Hylving told PTI in an interview. Last year the company had announced that it planned to open the first meeting place, Lykli Gurugram -- where it is investing 400 million euros (around Rs 3,500 crore), in late 2025. On the timeline for the opening of Lykli Gurugram, he said, "We had an intention (for late 2025). When you start up a project at an early stage, you set the target but once you get closer to understanding the full process, then you see what is achievable. So, 2026 is what we're talking for the opening of Lykli Gurugram." Elaborating further on the roadmap for Ingka Centres in India, he said, "We are looking for more opportunities, both brownfield and greenfield opportunities...We follow IKEA's expansion..." India is among the top three markets globally for IKEA and it will continue to be. There are big opportunities in India -- a big country with a lot of positive signals in terms of market growth, high education level, good qualified people, demographics is shifting in the right direction, he added. "We are looking at the locations where IKEA is now looking for opportunities. Sometimes it's possible, sometimes it's not. The cities that IKEA are looking at expanding, that is also cities that are on our map. If we can find a way together, then that's our preferred approach forward," Hylving said. On Lykli Noida, he said it will create 9,000 jobs and it will be Ingka Centres' first meeting place in the world with a hotel as part of the mixed-use development. "We're looking at opening in 2028," he said adding Lykli Noida will have around 240 partners, a hotel with 267 keys and two office towers. It is expected to attract more than 25 million visitors, Ingka Centres said. Ingka Centres offers shopping places, office space, food and beverage outlets and social activities collaborating with the local community. It works with over 3,000 brands across its portfolio of 35 meeting places in 13 markets globally. IKEA India CEO and Chief Sustainability Officer Susanne Pulverer said,"IKEA has a long-term commitment to Delhi NCR to create a positive impact on the local economy through our business. The unveiling of Lykli Noida is a major milestone in our India growth journey." Together with Ingka Centres, IKEA will become a strong contributor to increase the overall home furnishing market and bring a unique retail experience, she added. A source told PTI that Singh may sell as much as 15 percent of his stake, depending on market conditions. Another source told the news aggregator that Singh, who serves as both Chairman and Managing Director, will likely sell around 10 percent of his shares, though the amount could increase if necessary. SpiceJet is currently in talks with investors, both in India and abroad, for a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), with commitments already made for up to Rs 2,000 crore. These funds are expected to help the airline cover operational expenses and address its various liabilities. While no official statement has been made by SpiceJet, insiders expect the funding round to be wrapped up by the end of September. As of June 2024, Ajay Singh and the promoter group held just over 47% of the airline, according to data from the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). SpiceJet, which once had a fleet of 74 aircraft in 2019, now operates only around 20 planes. In a recent investor presentation, the airline announced plans to raise Rs 3,200 crore through QIP, warrants, and capital infusion by Singh. Today, a detailed report concerning the GST levied on life, health, and reinsurance premiums will be tabled, highlighting its revenue implications. Following the presentation, the Council will debate the merits of adjusting the GST rate on health insurance premiums. According to the ANI report, a source said that the Council is leaning towards removing the 18% GST on individual health insurance premiums entirely. However, group health insurance policies are likely to retain the existing tax rate. Additionally, there is a proposal under consideration to introduce a tax on online payments exceeding Rs 2,000. Currently, transactions made via online payment platforms remain untaxed. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman leads the GST Council, with state ministers serving as members. A federal judge in New York sentenced Paul Belloisi, 56, to nine years in prison Friday for charges of conspiracy to possess and import cocaine.Police discovered 10 bricks containing over 25 pounds of cocaine in the electronics compartment of an American Airlines flight at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City in February 2020. According to the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-edny/pr/american-airlines-mechanic-sentenced-9-years-prison-conspiring-import-cocaine-bricks">Justice Department</a>, the plane was selected for a routine search after arriving from Montego Bay, Jamaica.In their investigation, police removed the cocaine and replaced the bricks with fake ones covered in a substance that glows when viewed under a black light, the Justice Department said. While surveilling the plane, they saw Belloisi pull himself into the electronics compartment. When police confronted Belloisi, they shined the black light on his hands and saw a glow that indicated he had moved the bricks, according to the press release.Belloisi was also carrying a tool bag, and the lining of his jacket had "cutouts sufficiently large enough to hold the bricks," the Justice Department said.The street value of the cocaine was more than $250,000, police said.In court, Belloisi's attorneys said there was no evidence that he ever participated in any drug trafficking conspiracy and that the prison sentence was too harsh, according to The Washington Post."The sentencing went far beyond what is necessary," attorney David Jason Cohen told the outlet.American Airlines did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Belloisi's sentencing.<meta content="cms.next" name="cmsei" />

Two months from now the next G20 Summit will take place in Brazil, which has chosen to not create the hype and self-glorifying publicity like the non-biological PM did," Ramesh said in a post on X. "And what a difference a year has made. In September 2023 He was riding super high. Now he is still reeling from his personal, political, and moral defeat of June 4 2024," the Congress leader said. For the November 2024 summit, Brazil has floated a proposal for a two per cent wealth tax on dollar billionaires, he said. "This proposal has been supported already by France, Spain, South Africa, and Germany. India has been conspicuously silent on it. What will be our country's position on this proposal when it is debated?" Ramesh said. It is not irrelevant for us since according to one new report India has 334 dollar billionaires worth over one billion dollars, he said. Brazil's G20 presidency has put the proposal on the table. Commissioned by the Brazilian G20 presidency, the report 'A Blueprint for a Coordinated Minimum Effective Taxation Standard for Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals' had said, "a minimum tax on billionaires equal to two per cent of their wealth would raise USD 200-250 billion per year globally from about 3,000 taxpayers."
