Java Great Day

There's a new challenge up at Time Out. This is a really fun one - a photo inspiration/theme challenge. The photo was taken by our Blog Owner, Nonni Niskanen, when she visited New York City in 2023. The sign was outside a coffee shop and we thought it was really funny, and the second thought was that it would be a great photo inspiration challenge at Time Out. So here we are.

We are sponsored by Newton's Nook with a $25.00 store credit for our challenge winner who will also be invited to guest design with us for a future challenge.

We welcome Heidi Kunkel of Heidi´s kreative Seite Check out her blog for some fabulous inspiration.

The blackboard easel in the photo inspired me to frame out my coffee cups in rectangles, and to use black in my coffee cups. The buildings off to the top left in the photo are brick and I gave my brick embossing a touch of red as I also did with my coffee panels. I added the die cut sentiment of "java good day". The day this photo was taken was a wonderful day!

Happy Fall!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time around, we are challenged to create a card that is inspired by these words: "As long as autumn lasts, I shall not have hands, canvas and colors enough to paint the beautiful things I see."

We are generously sponsored by Poppystamps. Winner will receive a $20.00 store credit to the Poppystamps store.
We thank you Poppystamps, for your generosity!

We are joined by Deborah Wheeler of Deborah's Crafty Blog, and winner of Time Out #268 as Guest Designer.  We are so happy to have her with us. Check out her challenge card on the Time Out Challenge Blog.

Regarding my card, I used several new items from Honey Bee to create this Fall bouquet in this wonderful rattan basket. It was fun to put it together die cutting from scraps of solid and patterned papers. I attached a sentiment and my card was complete.

Please head on over to the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can see what Susan and the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Come play with us!

Reality Called

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time around, we are challenged to be "snarky". This word has a wide range of definitions, but commonly means mocking, sarcastic, ill-tempered, irritable... you get the picture. It's all in good fun!

We are generously sponsored by Funky Fossil Designs. Winner will receive a $25.00 store credit to the Funky Fossil store.
Thank you Sarah, for your generosity!

We are joined by Susan Sudbury of Eden Land Designs, and winner of Time Out #267 as Guest Designer.  Susan is a super talented crafter and a delightful and funny person. We are so happy to have her with us.

Regarding my card, the Retro Ephemera People from STAMPlorations immediately came to mind for this one. I paired one with a sentiment from AALL&Create's Miss Dee. Those images and sentiments are hysterical, and this one worked perfectly. I backed the image and sentiment panels with the current Color Hues colors of rust and green. Then I channeled my inner Michele Ferguson and added some gray to complete my card.

Love You, Friend

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time around, it's a theme challenge where we are concentrating on friendship, encouragement and support. We do this yearly in the late summer/early fall time period. Originally it was a breast cancer support thing, but over the years we have expanded it to be for any reason a friend or loved one needs love through a struggle. I love this, and sadly, there is often a need for a card like this. A card can be such a powerful thing, and a positive thing. This is the idea behind our yearly challenge.

We are generously sponsored by Uniko. Winner will receive a $25.00 store credit to the Uniko store.
Thank you Bev, for your generosity.

We are joined by Nancy Leppek as Guest Designer. Nancy is well known in the paper crafting community and we are thrilled to have her designing with us. Please welcome her and leave her some love on her Blog.

You Are The Zest

There's a new challenge at Time Out. This time it is a Photo inspiration Challenge.

This photo enlargement will help you see the details.

Photo Credit: "https://www.vecteezy.com/free-photos">Free Stock photos by Vecteezy

With our photo Inspiration challenges you can take inspiration from the entire picture, or just pick one or a few things as your starting point. For example you can pick "fruit" or "hearts" for your inspiration, or "grapes" and make it about grapes and cheese or wine, or choose an "apple" and make it about going back to school... Whatever your choice, please tell us in your post, how you were inspired by the photo.

Our wonderful sponsor is Graciellie Design with a generous prize of a $25.00 store credit for our challenge winner.

We extend a very warm welcome to Stef Perry of Perry Papercrafts and winner of Time Out #265, as Guest Designer for this challenge. Stef is such a talented paper crafter with mad coloring skills, and a delightful person too. We are so happy to have her with us for this challenge. Check out Stef's blog for some sheer delight and serious inspiration.

The photo inspired me to create a card simply using fruit. I chose lemons. I combined products from Altenew, Penny Black and STAMPlorations for my project. See the supplies I used below in Project Details.

Enjoy Your Vacation!

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time it is an Inspired By Words challenge, which means that we interpret the words of a quote in our projects. The quote is:

"It's always Summer Somewhere"

You can chose one or some words from the quote, or the whole quote as your inspiration. For example, the word "always" can be used in a love themed card. Whatever you do, create something inspired by these specific words. If it is not obvious, pease describe how you were inspired in your post. Most of all, have fun!

We are once again sponsored by Varada Sharma with a generous $25.00 store credit for our winner who will also get an invitation to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.

Our Guest Designer is Betty Keefe of created by bjk, Honorable Mention Recipient of Time Out #265. Please visit her blog, give her a warm welcome and leave her some love.

In creating my card, my mind went right to Summer vacation. My card is a CASE, well almost a copy really, of THIS card created by Michele Ferguson. When I saw it on her BLOG, I fell in love with it and HAD to have all of the supplies. This happens most often when I see Michele's work. She's dangerous that way! So I immediately went on a search for the supplies it turned out that the Harvest Home stamp set and the Destination Summer Die set was already retired and I can't find them anywhere. I really needed/(wanted) all four. THEN, I had the great joy of visiting with Michele in June. So when I was there (pinch me) I had to make the same little scene on a leaf which was so much fun. I brought it home for later use, and here it is. I also made the July 4th one, so it will appear at some later date - maybe next July, or, perhaps, this November. It depends...  Anyway, I love it, and it was the perfect thing for this challenge at Time Out!

Out Of Office

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time we challenge you "to be" on vacation.
We can let our imaginations run wild here.

Now, on to my card. I was so sad to see Ellen Hutson close her doors, but I swooped in and bought a lot of her sets on Amazon. This Summer Doodles one is so fabulous an I used it here. I just love the "out of office" sentiment.

We are sponsored by Varada Sharma with a generous $25.00 store credit for our winner who will also get an invitation to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.

Claire A on Life on the Scrap Heap and winner of Time Out Challenge #264, has joined us as Guest Designer for this challenge. Check out the details on the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can also see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Come play with us!

Your Friendship Lights Up My Heart

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time we have a theme challenge - seeing stars.  You can interpret that in so many ways from celestial stars, rock stars, movie stars, constellations, moon & stars, stars on flags... the list goes on and on.

Now, on to my card. I received a Betterpress System for my birthday and today is the first day I opened the box. I had some play time recently at the home of a dear friend where she taught me the Betterpress ropes. She also gifted me this wonderful press plate. I just LOVE it, and the giver. This card is made with her in mind. Thank you, friendy dear. Your friendship certainly does light up my heart! I inked the press plate with Betterpress Black Ink and fussy cut it so that I could mount it on this black panel that I stenciled with Lunar Paste. I sure do love that stuff!! I added a Betterpress sentiment from the same plate set, popped it up with a little foam strip and my card was complete!

We are sponsored by Picket Fence Studios with a generous $25.00 store credit for our winner who will also get an invitation to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.

Simeen Batra of simeen.creates on Instagram and winner of Time Out Challenge #263, has joined us as Guest Designer for this challenge. Check out the details on the Time Out Challenge Blog where you can also see what the rest of the Design Team has created for your inspiration. Come play with us!

Wish You Were Here

It's time for a new challenge at Time Out. This time we have a photo challenge with a subject that is near and dear to my heart. You can take so many things for inspiration from this photo from the lighthouse, to colors, to ocean to rocks... I am a lighthouse, lover, so I chose a lighthouse theme. I have several stamps and dies that would work for this in my stash. I chose this one from Cottage Cuts to create my scene. I love the embossing folder I used in the background on heavy duty vellum. I am so happy with the way it turned out.

We are sponsored by Lawn Fawn with a generous $25.00 store credit for our winner. Our winner also gets an invitation to Guest Design with us for a future challenge.

Joyce Mehrberg, former Time Out Design Team Member and winner of Time Out Challenge #262, has joined us as Guest Designer for this challenge.
