Hi,
Can you run "glxinfo" while you've got an instance of VMD already running?
This looks to me like another of the many ATI linux driver bugs. I would
suggest reporting the problem on the ATI support web site. Can you run
_any_ two instances of OpenGL applications at once on this machine?
