Hi,
  Presently, you'll need to install the Intel C/C++ compilers:
http://www.intel.com/cd/software/products/asmo-na/eng/compilers/clin/index.htm

I've tried statically linking VMD against the Intel compiler runtime libraries,
but this causes stability problems on some versions of Linux, so the current
versions I've made available still dynamically link them. I will probably end
up making two sets of VMD binaries in the end, one based on the Intel compilers
and one based on plain gcc.

You could also build from source if installing the Intel compilers to
get the missing runtime libraries isn't appealing.
