Hi *

What's the best way to see if all plugins installed are running just fine?
VMD was installed on a linux cluster (SGI Altix) by the sysadmin, and I want
to see if all is ok with the compilation. Can that be done in the text mode
console of vmd?

The compilation was done without having surf and stride compiled. If I
compile them now, and put them on the correct place
($install_vmd_dir/surf_LINUX, ...), is there any problem for vmd calling
those programs? VMD programmer's guide says that plugins and external
programms should be compiled prior to vmd.
