Nitin,
What platform are you running VMD on? If you're using Windows, you
won't be able to load more than 2GB of data into VMD regardless how many
pieces you split it up into, as the Windows version of VMD is only a 32-bit
app and isn't compiled with the special 3GB address space option for XP.
Windows also has problems reading >= 2GB files using the standard C library
I/O calls, which aren't resolvable with 32-bit apps. I may try and build
a special version of the DCD plugin that uses Windows-specific large file
I/O calls, but at present this is not available.
If you're running VMD on another platform other than Windows, let
me know and I can give you some other suggestions. All of the other
platforms should work fine with large multigigabyte DCD files.
