Hi,
This is usually caused by a bad .cshrc or .tcshrc file. One of your
startup scripts (or a file that they source) contains a line with a
path/filename that's not fully qualified, so it works when you start
a terminal shell, but fails when you start VMD. You can check to see
if this is the case by renaming your .tcshrc or .cshrc files to .tcshrc.bak
and then see if VMD starts. If it does, then you know that the problem
was indeed something in (or sourced by) your startup files. From there,
you can narrow down the source of the problem by commenting out items
in your .tcshrc or .cshrc file and re-testing. Every time I've seen this
problem it has been caused by syntax errors or relative pathnames in these
startup files.
